Designed in response to a steep and challenging site, this new-build home embraces the landscape from the ground up. Rather than working against the topography, the architecture is carved directly into the stone, anchoring a concrete and glass structure into the hillside and creating two distinct ground levels nearly forty feet apart.

Drawing inspiration from the modernist principles of the Gropius House, the design emphasizes clean geometry, thoughtful orientation, and a strong connection between interior spaces and the surrounding landscape.

At the heart of the home is its relationship to views and light. The upper level is oriented to capture sweeping views toward the Boston skyline, with an open living space extending outward.  The result is a home shaped by its site, its views, and the changing light throughout the day, with a quiet modernism that feels both intentional and deeply connected to place.
